Burnhamthorpe Community Centre Renovation
- Burnhamthorpe CC was originally built in 1974, with an addition in 2004
- Glen Forest Pool is at the end of its useful life and requires replacement (current Ward 3 indoor pool).
- City of Mississauga’s Strategic Plan (Future Directions) recommends improvements throughout the City to help residents maintain healthy lifestyles and identified this location as requiring a major redevelopment (including a pool and club-format fitness centre). Refer to the executive summary on pages v & iv, details on pages 25-46.
- Burnhamthorpe CC will close late March for two years, with demolition to begin in April
- Project addresses required lifecycle upgrades and changing demographics in the area.
- The 2021 Recreation Budget outlines the project budget at $35.5M from 2019-2023 (captured on pages I- 30-32).
