As of September 18, the limit on social gatherings in the Region of Peel will decrease to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors, following the Government of Ontario’s announcement on September 17. This includes functions, parties, dinners, gatherings, BBQs or wedding receptions held in private residences, backyards, parks and other recreational areas. It does not apply to events held at venues rented from businesses, such as banquet halls, restaurants and bars, cinemas, convention centres, gyms as well as recreational sporting or performing art events.
A new offence for hosting or organizing a gathering that exceeds social gathering limits include a minimum fine of $10,000 and anyone attending the event may be fined a minimum of $750.
A reminder that face coverings are mandatory in indoor public spaces. Be sure to practise the core four behaviours: physical distance, wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face and stay home if you are feeling ill.
