The City has begun construction on a new off road trail along the hydro corridor east of Dixie Road in an effort to expand active transportation options in Ward 3. The 3.8-kilometre asphalt trail will extend north-south from Audubon Boulevard to Dundas Street East.
This City led project is part of Mississauga’s plan to expand active recreational opportunities and to provide a new north-south connection to other local trails, parks, bike routes and points of interest. The trail was designed to meet Design of Public Spaces Standards within the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), making it safe and inclusive for all.
Construction is expected to last approximately six months but is weather permitting. Updates on the project’s progress will be posted to the project website at mississauga.ca/offroadtrail11.
