Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police would like to make the public aware of an “Extortion Scam” currently circulating on the internet.  The scam targets residents in the region regarding fraudulent traffic tickets. Police are urging citizens not to respond to any such request regarding traffic tickets sent via email. 

The email will look similar and may ask for similar the following information:

Reason: negligent driving

Registered No: 034675112

Date of issue: 28/10/2016

Amount due: 499.91CAD

This fee will be forwarded by mail to your address. However you can check it not, please press here Photo Proof – 278409952

The fee must be accredited within the statutory period up to 23.11.2016. This is an automatically created message, please do not reply.
