When can I exchange my carts without a fee?
Carts can be exchanged without incurring fees from April 1 – April 30, 2016 for residents who need to get a smaller or larger size.
- Residents who need to exchange BOTH their garbage and recycling carts have been instructed to ensure they process the two requests – for a new garbage and recycling cart – in the SAME online transaction.
- During the month of April, residents will get ONE free online transaction so the request to exchange both carts needs to be completed at the same time or else exchange fees will apply to one cart and it won’t be able to be processed until May.
How do I exchange my carts?
Residents who need to change the size of their carts can do so by visiting peelregion.ca/waste and placing their order online.
Can I exchange my organics bin?
No, the organics (green) cart is one size only and cannot be exchanged for a larger or smaller – version.
How long will it be until I receive my new carts?
After you order your new cart(s) please leave them at the curb, accessible for the vendor to exchange, until 8 p.m.
If you notice that they are not exchanged for a different size, please remove them from the curbside and following your next collection day continue to leave them at the curb until 8 p.m. until the exchange occurs.
Exchanges are being processed in priority sequence and it may take up to 6-12 weeks for your cart to be exchanged.
